So, for my seventeenth birthday, which was just two days ago, I decided I would finally get off my lazy ass (metaphorically) and write myself a blog post. So, for my first blog post, I'm not going to rant about the injustices of the world or anything like that....instead, I'm going to give you some happy stuff. Like flowers and bunnies and the fact that a British magazine has banned models &celebrities and from now on will be using only ordinary women with actual bodies, or that America just celebrated its thirty-ninth Women's Equality Day (check my math, since I'm still half-asleep and I just did that in my head, odds are it's off by a year or two). Or, hey, remember the hospital in Indiana that treated a trans woman so abominably when she came into the ER coughing up blood? Refused to treat her "because of the transvestite thing"? Guess what hospital now has mandatory gender identity and sexual orientation training?
In sports, I found out today (yes, today, my family isn't a very sports-oriented family, so I'm a little behind on these sorts of things) that Atlanta has its own women's tackle football team, further proving my theory that my city is the best city in the world.
Happy birthday, self, the world you live in doesn't completely suck today.
